Who are we?
We are a private nursery operating as part of an award-winning nursery group, offering high quality childcare in our specially equipped, light and spacious nursery for children aged three months to five years old. Adding to this, we tailor our care to suit your child’s age, including mobile and non-mobile babies. We achieve this by placing children into the following age categories: babies aged three months to approximately two years , toddlers aged two to three years, and lastly preschool aged three to five years. Each room reflects the seven areas of learning as prescribed in the Early Years Foundation Stage and is designed to be accessible to every child. Due to our rooms being equipped especially for these ages, we are able to provide that home-from-home feel.
Monkey Puzzle Easy Finchley and Monkey Puzzle Muswell Hill are both owned by Paula Murphy and under the Operational Management of Jenny Eracleous.

It’s St George’s Day ❤️
St George’s Day is celebrated to remember England’s patron saint.
Did you know, that although he is known as the patron saint of England, Saint George is actually believed to have been born in Turkey!
King Edward III was impressed by tales of his battles, and since then he has been associated with England.
George’s day tends to be celebrated with anything English including Morris dancing and Punch and Judy shows.

The Journey to School Readiness 🎓
Preschool is a stepping stone towards your child's school experience. At Monkey Puzzle, we work closely with parents to ensure they are familiar with the school transition process, understands their child’s development, and has the information they need to work with their child at home to prepare for starting school.
We develop school readiness...
🍴 Through self serving during meal times, to exercise their independence.
🧥 By encouraging the children to dress themselves, this could include when the class heads outdoors or some nurseries use real life uniforms from their feeder schools.
❤️ By supporting children’s communication, language, and social skills through group time activities-circle time, show and tell, singing songs, playing turn-taking games and reading stories.
And it doesn't stop there!
For us, “school readiness” means that the children are prepared to make a smooth transition to the next and exciting phase of their education – that they stay happy, confident, and ready to take on new challenges in their journey, when they move on from us.
We celebrate the end of their preschool experience with an exciting and fun graduation, waving our little ones on to the next stages of their lives!

Eid Mubarak…
Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr in thanks for the blessings that God has bestowed upon them.
The greeting that resonates most during this festive time is ‘Eid Mubarak,’ meaning ‘Blessed Eid,’ or ‘Eid sa’id,’ translating to ‘Happy Eid.’ These congratulations, however, are as diverse as the countries and languages they are spoken in.

Yesterday was World Health Day ✨
World Health Day is celebrated annually on the 7th April, and this years theme is ‘My Health, My Right’.
At our nurseries, we are continuously promoting healthy eating and living.
We always encourage our little ones to eat their fruits and veggies and discuss with them how eating healthy makes them feel good and energised.
Not only that, but many of our nurseries provide a range of extracurricular activities such as football and yoga, as well as taking the children on field trips to ensure they are remaining active throughout the day.
How will you be celebrating World Health Day today?

Oral Health 🦷 🪥
During Early Years’ Foundation Stage, a child’s first experiences with oral health can impact on the rest of their life.
That’s why it’s so important to teach them about their mouth and introduce them to good habits as soon as possible. It is equally vital to continue to ‘normalise’ dental visits and put them at ease with the role of a dentist as a person they can trust.
At Monkey Puzzle, Muswell Hill we had a visit from a local dentist in Haringey to teach and talk about oral health #monkeypuzzledaynursery #monkeypuzzlemuswellhill #oralhealth2024 ... See MoreSee Less

It’s World Autism Awareness Day ❤️
Each year, World Autism Awareness Day is held on 2nd April. From 2024, the focus of the day has shifted away from awareness and towards acceptance, and today also marks the start of World Autism Acceptance Week.
It’s an opportunity in the UK to spotlight the vital importance of not only raising awareness, but more importantly, fostering acceptance for the autistic community. This week reminds us of the diverse experiences and perspectives that enrich our world. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the uniqueness of individuals and reinforce our commitment to creating an inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.
Autism has an impact on the way a person relates to the world, the way they see it and how they respond to it, and at Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries, we want to highlight the ways in which we can support not only Autistic children, but their parents too.
We’ve thought of four keyways that we can support, and they are: Always be inclusive, Do not judge, Understand and educate yourself about Autism, and Advocate supporting both parents and children and promoting acceptance.
Let’s create a world where Autistic children can thrive!

The beauty of junk modelling…
Offering children recycled materials to construct with allows children to be given the freedom to build what they want, with the simple addition of resources such as tape, glue and paint. A simple activity like this can help develop your child’s imagination, teaching them how to solve problems and improve communication skills ❤️
