We were so delighted this month when one of our pre-school graduates visited the nursery to tell us all about her new school.  She brought along a picture she had drawn for us of our mascot “Marvin the Monkey”.  We think she has a great talent.

Drawing is a fantastic way for children to learn finger dexterity and express themselves.  Drawing begins with mark-making.  At Monkey Puzzle Muswell Hill we begin providing opportunities for children to make marks from their very first day with us.

As children experiment with making marks, they are learning to use their bodies in different ways. This can promote fine and gross motor skills, different grips, and control over their bodies which will all be used when they come to write.

We are so proud of all of the children that come through our nursery. To see how they’ve grown and develop makes us really appreciate how lucky we are to do what we do. Everybody who comes to us joins our Monkey Puzzle family and we love to see how they continue to learn, even once they’ve moved on to big school.
