Here is an update of the weekly activities we did, week commencing 14/02/2022.
Babies - This week we enjoyed lots of different fun activities, a lot of them based around Valentine’s Day. We enjoyed mark making with felt tip pens for Valentines. We explored shaving foam in a heart shape, with pom pom. We enjoyed pretend play in the kitchen, using different utensils. We enjoyed cooked pink spaghetti as part of our sensory play. Alongside this we explored tissue paper and animals, rice krispies and animals and wooden tots with shredded paper. We enjoyed a little woodland walk and having snacks with our friends in the park. As part of our cooking activity, we made a fruit stick. We used straws, bananas, strawberries and oranges. We made our own salt dough for valentines, then hand painted it to make some lovely hearts. We also made some masks for Purim. We enjoyed free flow play, circle time and garden time.
Toddler Room - This week we enjoyed lots of different fun activities. We made marks with chalk. We enjoyed making I love you to pieces Valentines cards, pink play dough and making coconut cookies, as part of Valentines. We played with cars and trucks on the car mat, and made our own wildlife forest, using the leaves we collected from our nature walk last week. We also enjoyed a trip to the recycling banks. We made some handprint leaves, as it was too windy to go to the park, so made our own. We did a matching animal activity, using the prints of the materials and the animals together. We also rescued them from various sensory materials, like find the animal game. We engaged with mud for messy play too. We enjoyed construction play, whilst exploring this, we spoke about different sizes, colours, and shapes. We also enjoyed counting beads and will try and thread them to practice our pincer grip. We enjoyed being doctors and helping our friends heal.
Pre school - This week we enjoyed sensory play with flour, gel, paint, trucks and helmets. We made some 3D ducks, by drawing around our hands, then cutting around them, before sticking it altogether to make it a duck. We made some Valentines Day cards using various materials. We made some lovely watches using paper cups, writing the numbers on the dial, and then adding the straps on. We practiced a lot of cutting skills this week. We did some live painting, as we looked at real bananas and painted our own. We looked at different emotions of ourselves and our friends and copied the faces on the box. We enjoyed our woodland walk this week and interlinked it to our cultural capital activity. For our cooking activity, we made some yummy apple pie. We experimented with various materials for looking at different activities, and took part in a dancing popcorn experiment.
See you all next week, for some more fun and games.
